About Viren V. Kotai

Viren V Kotai a son of the soil, weathering the storm from birth in the midst of Hurricane Marilyn - Viren V. Kotai was born in St Maarten on September 15th, 1995. Viren was raised and educated in the country which we call home. Always active within the community growing up, particularly in sports; Viren developed a long-lasting love for his country.
He proceeded to further his education abroad in Canada, which assisted him to adapt and gain insights into what life was like on the other side at 16. After completing his education, life being a circular motion, he found himself back to his first love; home. From a ‘Delta Operations’ agent at the International airport of St. Maarten to taking his first successful step within the political arena, the end goal never changed for him: to make St. Maarten a better place.

During the pandemic, he temporarily relocated to the Netherlands attending a personal family matter. Good things follow rough times, as Viren still resonated with St. Maarten whilst being away. He created a job stream for many St. Maarteners in the Netherlands within the Hospitality field. He assisted his fellow countrymen with changing their lives, creating a ripple effect of opportunity. Viren intends to bring the knowledge gained from these experiences into the system where he was born & raised. For him, the work has just begun.

A message from Viren V. Kotai

Issues

Viren aims to boost the economy through sustainable tourism, support for small businesses, and job creation.
Economic Boost

Overview:

The local economy needs revitalization. Our plan focuses on substantial tax reforms to encourage business growth and increase disposable income for residents.

Initiatives:

‍- Profit Tax Reduction: Currently at 34.5%, we propose to lower this rate to incentivize businesses and attract new investments.

‍- Turnover Tax Adjustment: Reducing the turnover tax from 5% to a more competitive rate will benefit small businesses and stimulate economic activity.

Health Care

Overview:

Access to quality health care remains a critical challenge. Our approach aims to improve facilities and services available to the community.

Initiatives:

- Infrastructure Enhancement: Upgrading medical facilities to provide comprehensive care locally.

- Health Programs: Implementing new health programs tailored to meet the needs of all age groups in our community.

Education

Overview:

Educational facilities are currently under-resourced. We aim to build and refurbish schools to provide a conducive learning environment.

Initiatives:

- Educational Programs: Introducing advanced curriculums and training programs to better prepare students for the future.

- Infrastructure Development: Constructing new educational facilities and renovating existing ones to meet modern standards.
Senior Support

Overview:

Our senior citizens face numerous challenges that need immediate attention. We propose programs specifically designed to enhance their quality of life.

Initiatives:

- Health and Wellness Programs: Tailored health services for seniors, focusing on accessibility and preventative care.

- Community Engagement: Encouraging active participation in community activities to promote social inclusion.

Infrastructure and Roads

Overview:

The state of our roads and general infrastructure in St. Martin requires urgent upgrades to ensure safety and improve efficiency.

Initiatives:

- Road Rehabilitation: Major repairs and improvements on critical roadways to ensure they are safe for all users.

- Public Infrastructure: Investing in public infrastructure to support sustained economic growth and community well-being.
